Print Story: Adventure Toile

A few months ago I got iced in at my house. It took till about day 3 of ultimate laziness to finally get me sketching.  I had some ideas to venture into more of a kid’s world with some prints.  I sat down and started thinking of all my 3 1/2 year old son’s favorite things.  Then he sat with me and gave me some “art direction”…..or got bossy and told me what to draw. Those first sketches of dinosaurs, sharks, cranes, trains, and planes turned into my take on a Toile.

The design, called Adventure Toile, is up on Society 6Spoonflower, and a full range of products at DENY.

I ordered the duvet from DENY Designs for my son’s room. I would love to say that we both jumped up and down and screamed when the cover came in the mail…but that was just me all alone looking like a crazy excited person.  My son on the other hand was crying…seriously sad.  And why?  Get this…it wasn’t Spiderman. I guess you can’t win them all.  We did compromise on Spiderman sheets. I for one love how this print came together and think it looks pretty great in his room….covering up Spiderman.
